Have You RecoverED?

Updated: Mar 2

Have you recoverED?

Or are you still tortured by those often referred to "bedevilments?" Do you feel as though your mind is trying to kill? As though you are constantly trying to wrap a lasso around your mind, trying to reel it in? Feel as though it is a futile effort?

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boy and Girls, you are in luck if you are indeed a real alcoholic fore many many years ago a bunch of men and women, pioneers, found a solution. Not only a solution to solve the drink problem. Hell, even that is enough for the alcoholic who has suffered under the weight of King Alcoholic.

But wait, there's more!

"You mean there is more to this than just not drinking and going to meetings?" you ask.

Why yes. Yes there is. (Any recovered alcoholic will share with you, and even help you to experience.) And it's free for the taking!

"What is this more you speak of!?! C'mon, I heard in AA that it was all about not drinking and being of service. You know the 'service keeps me sober' thing?"

Oh there's more.

Here, let me share just a couple of things with you as I don't want to overwhelm you. (And besides if you find this is attractive I might suggest you read through the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous up to page 164. Don't forget the Preface and the Forewords. And please don't forget The Doctor's Opinion!)

Here is a taste of what we have found...

We have been given the Power to just watch for resentments, fears, dishonesty and selfishness. This sure beats being taken for a ride by them. The scales have tipped in our favor. What was once a wet t-shirt upon us weighing us down is now simply a reminder to seek God when they crop up.

Pretty cool huh?

Wait, there's more!

We used to live life with a feeling of impending doom, that sense of danger. We were easily excitable or driven by fear, quick to anger, slow to understand. Constantly losing sight of the here and now by the futility of worry. Gasping for air through a flimsy reed in a swamp of self-pity and naturally all of this led us to make some really foolish decisions. Not to mention the level of exhaustion felt at the expense of putting forth useless energy.

But now? We are free. It's that simple. Being restored to sanity we have a level of balance in our lives all because we followed the directions in a book left to us by a group of truly selfless individuals who found a way out of hopelessness and despair.

And it's all yours if you're wiling to do some work. Sure. there is some heavy lifting. Hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Have you recoverED? Or are you still recovering?
